Real stories from real people whose lives have been transformed by ISP Nexus fibre internet in Kakuma.
"Before ISP Nexus, my M-Pesa transactions would fail three or four times a day. Customers stopped coming. Now every transaction goes through instantly — my daily revenue has doubled."
"Reliable internet is critical for our humanitarian operations. ISP Nexus gave us the uptime and speed we need for video conferences with Geneva and real-time data reporting."
"Our students can now access online courses, submit assignments, and join live virtual classes without interruption. Fibre changed the way we teach."
"My children do homework online, I work remotely for a Nairobi company, and my wife video-calls her family in South Sudan. One connection changed everything for us."
"I didn't start ISP Nexus to build a business. I started it to build a bridge — between Kakuma and the rest of the world. Connectivity is not a luxury. It is a right."
ISP Nexus was founded in 2021 by Olivier Hoga Jacques — a leader driven by a firsthand understanding of the digital barriers facing Kakuma Refugee Camp's 200,000+ residents.
He witnessed students who couldn't attend online classes, business owners whose M-Pesa transactions failed daily, and NGOs struggling to connect with global headquarters. In 2021, he decided to build the solution.
Today, ISP Nexus serves 4 active sectors of Kakuma Refugee Camp — with expansion to Kalobeyei Settlement underway. Our subscription model means we are self-sustaining, community-rooted, and here for the long term.
